The exhibition aimed to show how the European progress regarding medical knowledge was influenced and enriched by the Arab World. Furthermore it informs about today’s situation, as European medical technologies and services build a bridge between both regions. Both in the past and in the present it is a matter of innovations and markets for human well-being.

Nuremberg Metropolitan Region plays a decisive role regarding its cluster of medical education, clinics, medical technology and pharmaceutical industry.

Little- known is the fact that more and more tourists make a journey to get medical treatment. They choose their desti-
nations by best quality offer or special geographical amenities. This expanding business segment is exposed to fierce com-
petition pressure.

This section shows the surprising manifoldness and extensity of relations in the medical sector between Germany and the Arab World. The
enhanced by Arab doctors in the medieval times. The Arabic physicians were centuries ahead of their European colleagues and set the stage of the development of modern day medicine.

Nowadays the Arab Countries are equipped with modern health sectors according to Western quality standards. Aside people carry on practising traditional methods of healing, especially in rural areas, resorting to experiences with natural remedies.

– framed by the sounds of an
Arab lute and celli, which are warming our hearts.
Kassem Alef and Erika Dietz read German and Arabic poems about love, dreams and hope. The lutist and composer Layt Abdul Ameer, the cellists Birgit Förstner and Sibylle Friz adorn the evening with music, which makes the Arabian Nights come true.
